Tom Thibodeau Is a Great Coach; Vinny DelNegro Is Not

You probably noticed I didn’t have a game review after that Chicago Bulls-Toronto Raptors romp because frankly I didn’t have a thought worth this ether that is the internet.

They were without Derrick Rose again, the Tribune is writing sweet soliloquies about John Lucas III and we’re basically being distracted by just enough NCAA and NFL to make this stand a little less enticing than it should be.

So let’s step on other people’s shortcomings, and that brings us (drum roll)…Vinny DelNegro!
It looks like DelNegro is on his way out…again, because for some reason, Donald Sterling thought he was good at coaching. But it’s Donald Sterling.

This is a perfect time to contrast the musical improvising of Vinny DelNegro to the stricter and stated tones of Thibodeau. While Thibodeau sits atop of the league with the best record and should be considered the coach of the year, you can only imagine what he would be able to do with the roster DelNegro has been gifted.

The LA Clippers are finally relevant and among the most exciting teams in the NBA and yet their defense is awful—with DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin and a gamey Chris Paul.

If I’ve learned anything this year—because it’s been difficult with so much lopsided, halfhearted games—coaching still matters in a stars’ league.
